Ebuka Onuorah, PG Enugwu-Agidi: In Spite of Sterling Performance, Victim of Palace-Induced Propaganda – Research Reveals

 By Our Correspondent

Amid escalating tensions in the historic town of Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area, a new investigative report has cast Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, the President-General (PG) of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU-Nigeria), in a light far removed from the villainous portrayal dominating recent headlines. Despite a barrage of accusations including land grabbing, illegal levies, and leadership overreach, this research uncovers a narrative of exceptional community service overshadowed by what sources describe as a deliberate smear campaign orchestrated from the palace of Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche, the traditional ruler.

The report, compiled from interviews with over 50 community stakeholders, archival records of EBU projects, and cross-verified petitions, reveals Onuorah's tenure as a period of unprecedented infrastructure and social upliftment; achievements that have irked vested interests, particularly those aligned with the palace.

A Record of Transformation Amid Adversity

Elected in a democratic process in early 2024, Onuorah inherited a community plagued by insecurity, crumbling infrastructure, and unresolved boundary disputes. Far from the "dictator" label affixed by protesters, his administration has delivered tangible milestones that have positioned Enugwu-Agidi as a model for self-driven development within Anambra's Awka Capital Territory.

Key accomplishments include:

Enugwu-Agidi Junction to Ugwu-Ogwu Road Reconstruction: A 5km asphalt road project, lobbied through Onuorah's networks in the state government, completed in August 2025 at a cost of ₦450 million. This has reduced travel time by 40% and boosted local commerce, with over 200 businesses reporting increased footfall.

Revitalized EBU Secretariat Complex: A ₦150 million upgrade transforming the dilapidated town hall into a modern civic center equipped with solar power, conference facilities, and youth training hubs. Opened in July 2025, it now hosts free digital skills workshops for 500 indigenes annually.

Mkpasalaku Bridge Construction: Addressing chronic flooding, this ₦200 million bridge, funded via federal allocations Onuorah secured, was inaugurated in September 2025, safeguarding farmlands and preventing annual losses estimated at ₦100 million.

Indigent Stipends Program: A welfare initiative disbursing ₦10,000 monthly to 300 vulnerable households; widows, elderly, and disabled, totaling ₦36 million since inception. This has been praised by the Anambra State Ministry of Social Welfare as a blueprint for other unions.

These projects, verified through site visits and state records, were executed without a single reported embezzlement, contrasting sharply with pre-Onuorah eras marked by stalled initiatives. Community elder, Chief Emeka Okafor, who served on the project oversight committee, stated: "Ebuka brought resources we never dreamed of. Our roads were death traps; now, they're lifelines. The attacks on him are envy disguised as justice."

The Shadow of Palace-Orchestrated Propaganda

Yet, for all his gains, Onuorah's leadership has been mired in controversy, culminating in his suspension on November 25, 2025, by a faction of the EBU Central Executive Committee (CEC). A 17-point allegation letter accuses him of financial opacity, illegal suspensions, and palace invasions – charges this research finds riddled with inconsistencies and traceable to palace influences.

The probe reveals a pattern of "palace-induced propaganda" dating back to February 2025, triggered by Onuorah's public petition against Chukwudi Tansi, a suspected kidnapper and palace guard. Tansi, arrested on January 30, 2025, with illegal firearms, was allegedly shielded by Igwe Okekeuche, who nominated him as vigilante commander despite Onuorah's objections. Onuorah's April 4, 2025, letter to the Inspector-General of Police exposed threats to his life from Tansi's network, leading to the suspect's rearrest.

In retaliation, palace allies; including Press Secretary Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue, launched a media blitz labeling Onuorah a "private militia operator" and "land grabber." Ndulue's February 5, 2025, statement claimed Onuorah fabricated links to Tansi to deflect from his own crimes, a claim debunked by police logs showing Onuorah as the initial whistleblower.

Further evidence points to manipulated protests:

September 26, 2025, Women's March: Billed as a spontaneous outcry against "land grabbing," participants were reportedly mobilized via palace emissaries. Placards accusing Onuorah of selling "Mbanano lands" referenced a disputed boundary with Awka, where Onuorah actually advocated for Enugwu-Agidi's interests in state-mediated talks. Video analysis shows coordinators distributing branded materials from palace vehicles.

March 2025 Levy Imposition Claims: Accusations of a ₦6,000 "illegal security levy" stem from a misframed community security fund, approved in the December 2024 AGM but twisted in palace-fueled petitions to Governor Soludo. Receipts examined show collections routed transparently to vigilante operations, with no personal enrichment.

The suspension letter, signed by nine CEC members (a minority, as the full 13-member body was not consulted), cites "desecration of the royal throne" for an unverified "palace invasion." Eyewitness accounts, however, describe it as a lawful EBU delegation delivering a no-confidence motion against the Igwe's vigilante interference, a move quashed by state intervention in May 2025.

An anonymous CEC source confided: "The Igwe's camp controls half the village chairmen through patronage. They fund the smears to oust Ebuka because he won't bend to their land deals. We've seen forged documents planted in media."

Onuorah, speaking exclusively to this outlet, dismissed the suspension as a "cyber café fabrication" by "jealous detractors." "I've faced arrests, threats, and thug attacks – all palace-scripted. But the roads we drive, the stipends our elders receive? That's my truth. Enugwu-Agidi knows who built it."

Calls for Justice and Resolution

As Onuorah challenges the suspension in court, residents urge Governor Chukwuma Soludo to empanel an independent panel. The Anambra Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, has acknowledged the "multi-faceted crisis" and promised mediation.

This report, drawn from diverse sources including pro- and anti-Onuorah factions, underscores a deeper malaise: the clash between progressive town union governance and entrenched traditional authority. If unaddressed, it risks fracturing Enugwu-Agidi's fragile peace.

In the words of youth leader Miss Chioma Eze: "Ebuka isn't perfect, but he's ours. The palace whispers must stop; let facts lead."

Enugwu-Agidi Community Rallies Behind President General, Rejects Forged Suspension Letter

By Anslem Nwaka

The Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU-Nigeria) has emerged stronger and more united after decisively rejecting a forged letter that falsely claimed to suspend its President General, Hon. Ebuka Onuorah, on November 20, 2025.

The document, which contained seventeen allegations and purported to come from an emergency Central Executive Committee meeting, was immediately denounced by the union’s leadership and members as a complete fabrication.

In a swift response, the union’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Amaku (Ive Dinma), declared the letter null and void, stressing that the union’s constitution grants only the General Conference the power to remove an elected officer. He further pointed out that no valid executive meeting can hold without the President General presiding, making the alleged suspension constitutionally impossible.

The Financial Secretary, Engr. Chinedu Okoye Akuamia, publicly confirmed that no such meeting took place and that his signature was forged. Several branch chairmen and secretaries whose names appeared on the document have since disowned it, describing it as fraudulent.

Community members have expressed strong support for Hon. Ebuka Onuorah, highlighting his achievements since his election in December 2022. They cite numerous completed and ongoing development projects in Enugwu-Agidi as proof of his effective and committed leadership.

The union has urged all indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain calm, disregard the forged document, and continue supporting the lawfully elected leadership.

The leadership reaffirmed that the 2025 General Conference and elections will hold as scheduled on December 16, 2025.

Far from creating division, the attempted disruption has instead reinforced confidence in the current administration and deepened commitment to the union’s constitutional process and developmental strides under Hon. Ebuka Onuorah.

Come Home for Christmas – Enugwu-Agidi PG Ebuka Onuorah Begs Indigenes in Cities and Abroad

By: Ada Nwanagu

The President-General of Enugwu-Agidi, Hon. Ambassador Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, has called on all indigenes living in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, overseas, and other cities to return home for the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Onuorah said the town is now one of the safest places in Anambra State because of the strong security measures his administration has put in place. He listed vigilante patrols, street lights, cooperation with the police and army, and the use of modern security cameras as reasons why people should not be afraid to come home.

“Our community is fully protected. No criminal can enter Enugwu-Agidi and go free. We have peace,” he said.

The PG added that coming home is good for the body and soul. “There is joy in eating with your brothers and sisters, attending midnight mass together, and waking up in your village. That kind of happiness you cannot buy in London or America,” he explained.

He also used the opportunity to remind everyone of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s “Think Home” message. Onuorah urged successful indigenes to invest in Enugwu-Agidi by building houses, starting businesses, or supporting youth programmes so the town can grow fast like Dubai and Taiwan.

“Let us use this Christmas to plan how we will develop our community together,” he said.

Onuorah promised that this year’s Yuletide will be peaceful and full of fun for every returning son and daughter. “Bring your wives, husbands, and children. Enugwu-Agidi is ready to welcome you with open arms,” he concluded.

Facing 34 Court Cases, Enugwu-Agidi Leader Vows to End Corruption with Open Levy Audit

By Chidalu Ikwuama

In a revealing interview addressing Enugwu-Agidi’s ongoing leadership conflict, Hon. Amb. Ebuka David Onuorah, President-General since 2021, publicly confirmed facing 34 court cases.

These range from terrorism charges to vigilante complaints, which he calls “political weapons” aimed at undermining his levy reforms and village-chairmen elections.

From his Abuja office, Onuorah shared a 2024 Federal High Court ruling that dismissed a gun-running charge against him due to lack of evidence, maintaining he has never been convicted in any legitimate court.

Official checks in Nnewi, Awka, and Enugu courts show 28 active suits and six dropped for lack of prosecution.

Onuorah showed proof that before 2021, levies from shop owners—officially ₦500 per stall—were funneled into private accounts by unelected agents.

His administration’s digital system, launched in March 2022, now directs funds transparently to community projects like street lighting, a health center renovation, and bursaries for indigent students. He denied imposing any new levies, saying, “We only stopped the old theft.”

Responding to viral footage of a motorcade, Onuorah detailed three assassination attempts between 2022 and 2024, including a petrol bomb attack on his home. Police confirmed a two-man security detail assigned purely for protection.

Despite the challenges, he offered a town-hall audit of all funds collected since 2021, inviting public scrutiny to prove transparency.

Enugwu-Agidi Community Records Infrastructure, Security Upgrades Under PG Onuorah

By Our Correspondent

The Agidi First Assembly (AFA) has issued a public statement endorsing the leadership of President General Hon. Ebuka David Onuorah, citing completed infrastructure projects and enhanced security measures in Enugwu-Agidi.

According to the AFA letter dated October 10, 2025, key developments include:

- Revitalization of the Enugwu-Agidi Secretariat Complex, now serving as a functional administrative center.

- Full reconstruction of the MKpasalaku Bridge, which had been dilapidated for over two decades.

- Installation of CCTV cameras in strategic locations across the community to improve security.

- Establishment of foundational infrastructure by past leaders, including electrification, tarred roads, administrative blocks, a post office, Government Technical College, and Girls Secondary School.

The statement describes these projects as evidence of sustained progress, with Onuorah building on the legacy of earlier community leaders such as Okoli, Okam, and Umeano.

The AFA also highlighted Onuorah’s support for indigent residents through social interventions, though specific programs were not detailed.

Acknowledging that transformative leadership often attracts criticism, the assembly compared Onuorah to historical figures including Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr., noting that lasting impact transcends public opinion.

The group aligned its efforts with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda while crediting local execution to Onuorah’s administration.

The statement concluded with a call for community unity and youth participation in promoting positive narratives about Enugwu-Agidi, urging residents to support ongoing development initiatives.

Enugwu-Agidi Youths Applaud Hon. Ebuka Onuorah’s Bold Skills Acquisition Drive, Demand Statewide Adoption

By Chidalu Ikwuama

The Enugwu-Agidi Youths Organization has issued a heartfelt open letter praising Hon. Ebuka Onuorah, President General of Enugwu-Agidi, for his revolutionary declaration of a state of emergency on compulsory youth skills acquisition; a move hailed as a game-changer for the community’s future.

Addressed to the Anambra Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Chief Collins Nwabunne, the letter dated October 13, 2025, celebrates Onuorah’s mandatory vocational training program.

It includes fields such as Tech, Mechanics, Carpentry, Furniture Making, Tailoring, Soap Making, and Catering, directly tackling rampant youth unemployment and idleness.

“Equipping our youth with practical, market-ready skills empowers them to achieve sustainable independence and a dignified life,” the letter emphasizes.

Signed by Comr. Simon Okafor (Chairman) and Comr. Peace Okafor (Secretary), the youth leaders praise Onuorah’s leadership as a faithful embodiment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s “One Youth, Two Skills” vision.

They note a marked decline in youth restiveness and social vices since the initiative began.

Contrasting Enugwu-Agidi’s tangible progress with neighboring areas still struggling with youth challenges, the letter states,

“Where despair once simmered, now thrives the dignity of labor, the zeal for learning, and the birth of entrepreneurship.”

The youths describe Onuorah’s policy as “a compassionate, generational sacrifice” and urge the state government and community stakeholders to back his courageous approach instead of criticizing it.

“Hon. Ebuka Onuorah didn’t merely promise youth empowerment; he enacted it as law,” the letter proclaims.

The initiative has transformed local youths into creators, builders, and innovators, injecting fresh economic vitality into Enugwu-Agidi.

Accompanied by hashtags #EnugwuAgidiSkills, #YouthEmpowerment, and #EbukaOnuorah, the letter is sparking widespread acclaim on social media, positioning Onuorah as a trailblazer in grassroots leadership in Anambra State.

The Enugwu-Agidi Youths Organization appeals to the Anambra State Government to recognize and expand this grassroots success as a model for youth development throughout the state.
